DO YOU REALLY WANT TO KNOW THE TRUTH ABOUT
SCOTT STAPP and CREED?

Scott Stapp, former lead singer of secular rock band Creed, has recently released a solo album entitled "The Great Divide".

Before we go any further let's look at the myth that Creed was a "christian band."

The following are quotes from Scott Stapp in interviews from
webspawner.com, mtv.com, and christianitytoday.com:

Is Creed a Christian band?
"Are we a Christian band? This is a question we are asked a lot because of some of the references made in the lyrics. No, we are not a Christian band. A Christian band has an agenda to lead others to believe in their specific religious beliefs. We have no agenda! Those references were made at a time in my life when I was questioning how I was raised, and searching for where I stood concerning those issues. This is not to say I have abandoned those beliefs, just searching for where they fit into my life."--Scott Stapp

Are the members of Creed Christians?
"This is a very personal question because the whole foundation of being a Christian is a personal relationship. I can say that all the members believe in God, but we each differ on our methods to reach Him. We are all still learning and growing, and God can only answer this question, because who are we to say that being a Christian is the only way to heaven. I know this might be hard to understand for all the Christians who follow the band--and trust me, I know where you are coming from--but let us continue to seek, and if that is the way, then we will find, if we continue to knock, the doors will be opened."--Scott Stapp

Then there is the FACT that Creed sings "g-d d---n" on the album, My Own Prison.

More from Scott Stapp:
If Creed is a Christian band, why does Scott say "God damn" in "What's This Life For?"
"Why do we use GD in WTLF? First of all let me say that there was never an intention of cursing God. It was strictly an emotional response to a tragic situation of losing two friends to suicide. I know some of you live by the words of never taking the Lord's name in vain, and I feel in my heart that there was never that intention. Some of you will never agree with my use of that word, and I respect your convictions. I guess this is between God and me, and my heart has no conviction for the use of this word because I feel God understood my situation. If some of you could look at the bigger picture in that song and not focus on the word, you would understand that it is a cry to the lost, put in a way that they could understand."--Scott Stapp

But then Stapp leaves Creed and goes solo. Is he now Christian or not? Let's look.
In an interview with Christian Music Today, Stapp was asked:

Prior to this recent renewal, how would you have described your faith?
Stapp:"I'd have called myself a struggling Christian who was trying to find holes in everything he had been raised to believe. I was a doubting Thomas. I was raised in a climate where I believed in God because I was afraid of going to hell—and I didn't think that was the right way to fall in love with somebody. I always believed in God and Christ, but I was in rebellion—trying to make my relationship with God fit into my life instead of making my life fit in with him. I was stubborn.

It just took all of that to come to a screeching halt, to get to the point of having nothing, for me to finally realize, Hey, what are you fighting with this for? Until then, I hadn't claimed my faith as my own; I had just grown up with it. But I finally got to that point after years and years of running from God. Christ stepped in when I asked him."--Scott Stapp

Then the interview gets really interesting:

You've been really open in this interview. Is that because I'm with the Christian media? Or would you answer these questions similarly for the mainstream media?
Stapp:The nature of my answers are a lot different now that I'm no longer with Creed. I'm a solo artist now, and I don't have a band to hide behind. So when someone asks me if I'm a Christian, I have to say yes, because I am. But do you know I was never asked in 10 years if I was a Christian personally? We were only asked if Creed was a Christian band.

Okay. This interview was conducted on August 9, 2004. He said he would give the same answers to the secular media so let's take a look!

On September 23, 2005 Stapp had an interview with MTV.com. Here are some snipits from the interview:

"A lot of the songs have a sexuality to them, a vibe to them," he said. "I'm still a rock artist man, and I still love to rock, so there's the crossover stuff I have a tendency to write, and the heavy stuff too. But there's a whole lot of the sexy stuff in between. And that's where I think I've grown, in the in between. I call it sexy rock and roll."

"I wanted to show a different side of myself on this album. I stepped outside — on purpose and on accident — a lot of times," he said. "I feel like I've grown as a songwriter. On our last album, Weathered, I felt like I kind of knew what I was doing, but on this one I definitely do."

Stapp states he definitely knows what he is doing. But it sounds like he is leading a double life. Well...he is, and, he's singing about it.

Here are the lyrics to the song "Justify" on his new album.

"I saw her from across the room with Diamond eyes
She's Heaven's jewel
Dropped two aces smiled and threw my cards back
Yeah, I've been that man
Who lives deceit Surrounds himself with worldly things
So let me tell you a story Let me feed it to you
We fly around like we were Superman
Live in another trance
A different way to dance With dark romance
You get another chance to do that dirty dance without consequence
I do not have to justify The way I live my life
I do not have to justify
The reason I'm alive
Let me change the timbre of this section
Add a little booze to ice
I guess you've probably noticed I've been living a double life
So fly around like you were Superman Given another chance
A different way to dance With true romance
You get another chance to tell you dirty, darkest secrets
(from lyricsbox.com)

Although you can buy his album at the local CHRISTIAN BOOKSTORE, his fruit is not right. That is why he was just ARRESTED at LAX airport, for being drunk and disorderly. He was twice the legal limit for alcohol.
There is now a pornography tape of him surfacing with Kid Rock and 4 women. Rock stated it was filmed by Stapp himself, while Creed was touring.

Take this info to your local christian bookstore and share the truth.
