This is Kutless. No we do not endorse Kutless or any other 'christian' rock band. Rock and roll means
"to fornicate", therfore I do not endorse 'christian' fornication. People, have asked us to check out
Kutless's lyrics, but I will look no further then the following interview to see the spirit at work in
what they are trying to do
Kutless endorses tattooing, and rock and roll muisc as being neutral (the exact opposite of No More
Ministries and more importantly our Lord).
Leviticus 19:28 states "'You shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor tattoo any
marks on you. I am Yahweh."
Kutless uses the excuse that Leviticus 19 is full of laws that do not pertain to today's culture,
but that is clearly untrue. Matthew 5:17,18 (NLT) “Don’t misunderstand why I have come. I did not
come to abolish the law of Moses or the writings of the prophets. No, I came to accomplish their
purpose. I tell you the truth, until heaven and earth disappear, not even the smallest detail of God’s
law will disappear until its purpose is achieved."
In Leviticus the Lord (Yahweh) was expressing to His people, Israel, that they were to come out and
be seperate from the world. The ungodly were doing all those things and God wanted them and us to
refrain from the customs of the world. THESE WERE SIGNS OF REBELLION and GOD was pointing it out.
God states the same thing in the New Testament in 2 Corinthians 6:17,18 - "Therefore, "'Come out from
among them, and be separate,... I will be to you a Father. You will be to me sons and daughters,' says
the Lord Almighty."
Then Kutless uses the weak argument that rock and roll in itself is neutral. If you look over
this website at all, that argument is futile.
The Interview
Kutless - Strong Tower Tour (interview)
From Kim Jones,
Your Guide to Christian Music / Gospel. from http://christianmusic.about.com/od/interviewsal/a/aaSTtourKutless.htm
Apr 22 2005
Kim - I get strange looks because of my tattoos and some people question how I can be in ministry.
Is that something you have to deal with since you have ink and piercings?
Ryan - Well, where we're from piercings and tattoos are not a sign of rebellion.
Actually there's a really big association called the Christian Tattoo Association and it's huge.
There's tons and tons of people. It's not frowned upon where we're from but when we come down to the
Bible Belt we do get some looks.
James - I get Leviticus 19:28 emails a few times a week. I just don't respond to all of them.
Some people will have a real accusatory tone, a real angry tone. In the past, when I've tried to
reach them in response, it's just spiraled downward so I've decided that these people don't really
need to hear my answer because they don't care.
Jeff - A lot of new Christians are honestly curious and it's another way to reach out to kids.
Kim - Don't feel too bad because I get them too. The very people that call me on Leviticus 19:28
ignore the rest of that chapter, and how it talks about men shaving their faces and wearing clothes
made of more than one type of cloth.
James - It's funny to me because most of the people who would attack you for Leviticus 19:28 -
I don't want to sound angry at these people - but most of these people would fit every other rule
as a mismark. So it's kind of funny.
Jeff - It's cool too. For instance when we were doing preproduction for our new record right before
we started this tour and James and I were walking downtown and he has some Hebrew on his left arm, you
wouldn't believe how many people asked him about it. What it means and what it says ... It's just
constantly able to witness to people by having this artwork on your arm. It's awesome. It's not like
we need tools to witness to people because that's not what it's about but at the same time it's like
"Wow ... the Lord totally uses it." It's not even about changing something bad to good because it was
never bad in the first place. It's just the Lord using it.
James - It's kind of like rock music was never bad in the first place, it was just made that way
by people who were choosing bad over good.
Back to No More Ministries
Kutless member James stated "so I've decided that these people don't really need to hear my answer
because they don't care." It does not matter what he says, or even what we say, it matters what the
Word of God says. Leviticus 19:28 states "'You shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the
dead, nor tattoo any marks on you. I am Yahweh."
Kutless member Jeff states "Jeff - A lot of new Christians are honestly curious and it's another
way to reach out to kids." Tattoos are a way to reached out to kids. Since when do we rebel against
God's Word to reach kids.
Kutless member Jeff also states "Wow ... the Lord totally uses it." It's not even about changing
something bad to good because it was never bad in the first place. It's just the Lord using it.
The Lord thought of it as rebellious and stated to not do it. It was bad in the first place.
It was rebellious, yet Kutless endorses it.
Kutless member James stated "It's kind of like rock music was never bad in the first place."
Come on, this makes me sick. Please refer to the Rock History page.
